On Thursday our 5th and 6th year Art students enjoyed a wonderful day of art appreciation in Dublin. We visited two of Dublin's finest galleries-IMMA (Irish Museum of Modern Art) in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham and The Hugh Lane Gallery on Parnell Square. The focus of our excursion was to give the students an opportunity to experience some significant aspects of ' Art Appreciation' which is a large component of their Leaving Certificate Art History course and an integral element in the execution of their practical artwork also.
The annual school Market Day will take place next Tuesday the 3rd of December in the GYM.
27/11/19 – Enterprise Week – Question of the day
27th of November marks the start of Enterprise week in Loreto - leading up to our Market Day on Tuesday 3rd of December.
Congratulations to all the students who travelled to this year’s Cross-Country Championships held on Tuesday at Thurles Crokes Complex. Loreto Clonmel placed in the scoring team events collecting bronze medals in the Intermediate and Senior category Also, two members of the group brought home individual bronze medals in Junior and Intermediate category!
Well done to our two students who signed for the U17 Cork City women’s national team in February 2019. They progressed to the women’s U17 cup semi-final and the semi-final of the Só Hotels Women’s u17 League, however were unlucky in both semis. Congratulations to both girls on a very successful season.

Sunday 27th started with a walking tour of Starsbourg with Saber Hassan (http://www.saberhassan.com) which took us to the old town & ended at the beautiful cathedral, giving us loads of history and interesting facts along the way.
Down time after a busy day in the Parliament!
Strasbourg is a really beautiful city, we spend a little while exploring it on Friday night.

After an early start the Loreto students were in the Parliament and ready for business at 8am!
The 5th Year Euroscola winners arrived in Luxembourg airport today, and safely transferred on to Strasbourg (2.5 hours drive) so a long day travelling to get to the EU Parliament for tomorrows' event.
Best of luck to Ms Dooley & Ms Culliton heading off to Strasbourg with 20 5th years tomorrow.
Well done to our students who travelled to Presentation Secondary School, Ballingarry today to compete in the regional rounds of the annual poetry speaking competition organised by Poetry Ireland and The National Library of Ireland in partnership with UCC. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the opportunity to recite two poems from memory in front of a large audience.
Congratulations to Ella Fitzsimons who has been invited to the National Junior Science Olympiad as a high achiever in Science and Maths in the Junior Cycle 2019 exams. Congratulations also to her teachers Mrs Boyd and Ms Brinker and her family who are all delighted for Ella.
